The police of Khoribari police station in Siliguri arrested two smugglers on Thursday morning on charges of cattle smuggling under the guise of vegetables. The arrested smugglers are named Golap Hasan and Hamidur Rahman. Both are residents of South Dinajpur district.
According to sources, the police of Khoribari police station stopped a vegetable-laden lorry during naka checking at the Chakkarmari area and searched it. The lorry was being taken from Bihar to Siliguri.
During the search, 29 cattle were recovered under the guise of vegetables. After which the police seized a lorry loaded with cattle. After this, the police arrested two smugglers for not showing valid documents related to the cattle. The police of Khoribari police station have started further action.
